I have a blog?!
In order from top to bottom: "Ghost Rider", "Syrinx", "A Passage to Bangkok" and "Summertime Blues." The last one is back by popular demand.
And My Big News
Remember this?
It was first shawl design, the "Cagney & Lacey" wrap. It's a simple, six row repeat with glitzy (expensive) yarn on huge needles (to get the most out of the yarn's price tag). I had it as a free pattern on Ravelry. A designer in Texas told me she was inspired to make this shawl, and when she discovered it was my design, she told me I should be paid for it, and submitted it on my behalf to Dreamweaver Yarns who publishes her patterns. They accepted it, and will publish it under my name provided it is re-knit in a yarn they carry. So here it is again, in Tilli Tomas' Rockstar, a beaded silk. I plotzed from the yarn's gorgeousness, and then again from the price tag.
To land my plane, save you from any more of my babbling and put it succinctly: the pattern is no longer available for free, as I am on the verge of becoming a published designer.
Is that the end of my pink cloud story? No, I say, no! Because while I was in Knit Purl shopping for the Tilli Tomas, I showed my original shawl to the sales manager for Shibui Knits, and she offered me the chance to design for their Silk Cloud laceweight.
Stay tuned!
I'm so happy for you!!!! This is confirmation that you made the right choice in taking the leap from the "safe" corporate job into the land of creativity. I hope you are doing something suitable to celebrate!!!!
I just can't stop putting exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) :) :D :D :D
